This is one of my favourite views of Edinburgh Castle.  It seems no matter where you are in Edinburgh, a view of the castle pops up in unexpected places.  I could be in Bruntsfield, on a hill near Colinton or even across the water, turn around, and there's the castle.  It has quite a commanding presence over the city.

This is the view from the south of the castle, looking through buildings, skipping across the Grassmarket and to the hill.
