This project was created in four parts. I first attended two meetings with immigrant workers working in agriculture and care. Through Russian translators, I heard their stories then drew their experiences. Although I was there to live illustrate the two sessions, I then worked on further summaries for the workers to share amongst themselves in a format that was easy for them to use. The images were made to be easy to share on phone screens. I created English versions and Russian versions of the illustrations. The last project involved designing the illustrations for workers to use and also for the Workers Support Centre to share with policymakers with the aim of improving immigrant workers’ lives in Scotland.
