The original work was created using cut paper, ink and Posca Pens. I had so much fun making this as it is a slight diversion from my usual style. When I first visited Edinburgh, I was struck my the layers in which the city is laid out. I was following my map and tried to follow from one street to the next, only to find that the street I wanted was somehow several levels down from where I stood. I was standing on George IV Bridge. Here I wanted to give the viewer the sensation of standing in a high place, able to see the castle and beyond. You can see Carlton Hill to the right and Fife beyond the hill.
